SUBJECT: Fall 2024 Minimester I & II Schedule Adjustments due to Hurricane Helene

Dear Faculty, 

As we work together to adapt to recent changes in our schedule, I want to thank you for your flexibility and understanding. Here are the key updates regarding Minimester I exams and the start of Minimester II.

Minimester I Class Schedule and Exam Adjustments:

• October 7-9 will serve as make-up days for missed classes from September 30 and October 1-2.
• Exams, originally scheduled for October 4-5 and 7-8, will now take place on October 10-11 & October 14-15.
• Faculty are encouraged to consider alternative assignments in place of exams where possible to ease this transition.

Minimester II Schedule:

• Minimester II will begin as planned on October 10.  

Important Notes for Faculty:

We kindly ask that faculty be mindful of students’ schedules during this time, as everyone may be managing a heavier workload with the doubling of classes on these make-up days. We realize that some of you may be teaching in both terms and that this will create schedule conflicts. Please work with your chairs and deans to manage coverage. Our office will work with the Office of the Registrar to adjust classroom locations as necessary. 

We understand that this period may present challenges, but I am confident that our shared commitment to academic success and mutual support will see us through.
