Conference Theme: Embracing Change and Pushing Boundaries
In an era of rapid technological, social, and educational transformation, it is critical that professionals in library and English education disciplines embrace change and push the boundaries of their praxis. From incorporating innovative digital tools and pedagogical approaches into the classroom to redefining the library’s role in the 21st-century knowledge ecosystem, scholars and practitioners in these fields must be willing to adapt, innovate, and take calculated risks.
This academic conference provides a platform for librarians, English educators, and education researchers to share their empirical studies, theoretical frameworks, and visionary perspectives on the future of their disciplines. We invite proposals that explore how professionals in these fields can:
- Leverage new technologies, digital resources, and emerging pedagogical methods to enhance student engagement, critical thinking, and learning outcomes
- Develop interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary approaches that prepare students for an evolving workforce and civic life
- Foster inclusive, welcoming, and equitable learning environments that center diverse perspectives and experiences
- Cultivate creativity, adaptability, and other “future-ready” competencies in students
- Redefine the purpose, function, and design of libraries as dynamic hubs of knowledge creation, curation, and dissemination
- Facilitate cross-pollination and collaboration across disciplines to address complex educational and societal challenges
- Critically engage the use of writing and research technologies to support student writing development
- Advocate for the enduring importance of the humanities in an increasingly STEM-focused educational landscape
We welcome a diverse array of presentation formats, including individual paper sessions, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and innovative multimedia/digital demonstrations. Proposals should clearly articulate the scholarly merits, methodological rigor, and anticipated contributions to the conference theme of “Embracing Change and Pushing Boundaries.”
