Professional Development
The Faculty Center is dedicated to supporting Georgia Southern faculty. We offer professional development workshops and events to assist faculty in supporting student success through teaching and learning, research, grants and scholarships, and professional growth and leadership.
Badge Program
The Faculty Center Badging Program assists faculty with documenting professional growth in teaching, research, scholarship, and leadership development.
Seven (7) badge tracks with six (6) training levels each allow faculty to show breadth of training across topics. Action Plans and Capstone Reflections allow faculty to show evidence of and showcase commitment to professional growth.
“Thriving in Academia”
“Thriving in Academia (TIA)” is an exclusive Faculty Center initiative to support faculty by meeting their needs and interests regardless of where they are on their academic career path. With support for Tenure Track, Non-Tenure Track, and Graduate Students, TIA functions as both a broad guide for faculty as they progress through professional training for their advancement and as a mechanism to identify the next steps in educational development.
