Human Resources for Faculty
Newly hired faculty members at Georgia Southern University will receive an email invitation to access the GS Onboarding System and complete the new hire “packet.” This email will contain a default login and password. The onboarding system includes a 16-minute timeout feature for security, so if there is a timeout, faculty members can return to the Onboarding System and resume the packet using their login and password.
In addition to completing the onboarding packet, a few additional steps need to be taken to finalize the faculty member’s records. First, they must present the required I-9 documentation to HR within 3 business days of employment. This documentation is necessary to verify their identity and eligibility to work. Failure to complete this step within the specified timeframe may result in ineligibility for continued employment.
If faculty members have any inquiries about benefits or retirement choices, they can contact HR at hrservice@georgiasouthern.edu or reach out to GS Human Resources at 912-478-6947 to schedule an appointment with a senior consultant.
Once faculty members receive an email from HR with their employee ID after entry into OneUSG, they can access OneUSG Connect. This system lets them update their personal details, such as W4, G4, direct deposit information, and more.
If new faculty members have questions about the GS Onboarding System or the onboarding process, they can contact Human Resources at hrservice@georgiasouthern.edu.
