The Faculty Center’s “Thriving in Academia” Professional Development Days (PD Days) are scheduled twice during the academic year. Topics covered are pertinent to faculty’s professional growth, promotion, retention, teaching, and student success.

Join us for an all-day interactive workshop with Dr. Rebecca Pope-Ruark, PhD. Dr. M is the Director of the Office of Faculty Professional Development at the Georgia Institute of Technology and a leading voice in faculty wellbeing and professional growth. Holding a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Professional Communication with over 17 years as a tenured professor, Dr. Pope-Ruark now focuses her work on helping faculty build meaningful, sustainable academic careers grounded in purpose and balance. She is also an ACC-certified coach, Certified Scrum Master, and experienced design thinking facilitator.
Dr. Rebecca Pope-Ruark is the author of Unraveling Faculty Burnout: Pathways to Reckoning and Renewal (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2022) and Agile Faculty: Practical Strategies for Managing Research, Service, and Teaching (University of Chicago Press, 2017), and co-editor of Redesigning Liberal Education: Innovative Design for a Twenty-First-Century Undergraduate Education (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2020). She also hosts The Agile Academic Podcast, which highlights the experiences of women in higher education.
