Teaching Observations
At Georgia Southern University, the Faculty Center offers comprehensive teaching observation services designed to enhance instructional effectiveness and promote student learning. Our dedicated staff conducts observations, providing valuable feedback on teaching behaviors, course design, and delivery methods. These observations are confidential and are often paired with mid-semester student feedback sessions for a holistic view of teaching performance. Whether you’re looking to refine your teaching strategies or seeking support for professional development, our Faculty Center is here to help you succeed. Join us in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and educational excellence. The goal of an teaching observation is to provide instructors with feedback on teaching behaviors that promote student learning. Our observation reports are confidential, but you might choose to include yours in a portfolio to show growth.
For in-person or synchronous courses, you will be asked to provide a Pre-observation worksheet. A pre-observation worksheet is not requested for asynchronous online courses.
Information on observations by peers can be found at Peer Observation of Teaching.
