Giving Societies

The University’s premier giving society, LGS consists of six recognition levels honoring increasing degrees of philanthropic leadership at Georgia Southern. Each contribution level offers additional benefits providing exclusive opportunities for greater involvement with the University.

Participation in the overarching society is concurrent with any other donor society or club across the University at the school, college, program or athletic level.

Donors who make contributions at the following gift levels are also recognized as members of the following gift clubs and receive the following benefits.

Georgia Southern Believer ($25,000 – $74,999)

• Signature Event­ – All members will receive an invitation to attend the Gratitude Gala, an exclusive event, each year.

Georgia Southern Collaborator ($75,000 – $149,999)

• All benefits at the previous level plus:
• Invitation to other special events- Invitations to select donor, alumni or sporting events throughout the year.

Georgia Southern Advocate ($150,000 – $299,999)

• All benefits at the previous level plus:
• Custom GS Experience – Take the opportunity to explore more of what Georgia Southern has to offer students and the community. Members will be invited to participate in experiences to gain a deeper understanding about what makes our University unique.

President’s Ambassador ($300,000 – $499,999)

• All benefits at the previous level plus:
• President’s Ambassador Honoree — Selected and highlighted at the signature event, The Gratitude Gala.

President’s Innovator ($500,000 – $999,999)

• All benefits at the previous level plus:
• President’s Event Invitations – Members will receive invitations from the president throughout the year to attend exclusive campus and regional events with special access to University leadership.
• President’s Innovator Honoree — Selected and highlighted at the signature event, The Gratitude Gala.

President’s Visionary ($1 million and above)

• All benefits at the previous level plus:
• Hospitality Service – Members will receive access to a personal assistant provided by the Office of Donor Relations to include special accommodations and VIP treatment such as event parking reservations, scheduling private campus tours for special places of interest, access to University meeting rooms. The service is also offered for general questions and requests. (All requests are subject to availability.)
• President’s Visionary Honoree — Selected and highlighted at the signature event, The Gratitude Gala.

Membership benefits include:

• Signature Event — All members will receive an invitation to attend an exclusive event each year.
• Legacy Member Honoree — Selected and highlighted at the signature event, The Gratitude Gala.
• Invitation to other special events — Invitations to other donor, alumni, or sporting events throughout the year.

1906 Society gifts make a tremendous impact no matter what area of campus they support. Gifts to the Georgia Southern Annual Fund, in particular, support a wide array of University faculty and student programs. These programs help the University attract and retain the best and brightest faculty and students. 1906 Society gifts also enable the president to direct funds where the campus needs and opportunities are greatest.

1906 Society membership qualifications:

• Annual Gifts of $1,200 or more during one fiscal year. Membership is renewable annually.
• Annual membership qualifications are based on cumulative giving to all areas of Georgia Southern during fiscal year July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022.

Membership benefits include:

• Signature Event — All members will receive an invitation to attend an exclusive event each year.
• Invitation to other special events — Invitations to other donor, alumni, or sporting events throughout the year.

Annual gifts provide Georgia Southern with the flexibility needed to fund emerging opportunities in scholarships, student programming, faculty research, and academic initiatives. No matter the gift amount, support from alumni and friends makes a difference. Gifts of every size enhance the Georgia Southern experience.
