Students visit Pembroke for service-learning project
Georgia Southern undergraduate students went on a trip to visit and document the old ball field site, as well as downtown, Pembroke today. The service-learning project involves almost fifty Interior Design and Psychology students in their capstone class. They are learning about the city and the current needs related to the master plan and how they relate to developing the twelve acre lot across from City Hall. Students will be working to create evidence-based design recommendations this semester for ideation about uses for the vacant lot to support the city growth related to the HMG plant. Using research, interview and secondary-data analysis, they will present their findings to the city this December.
