Samaria Rooks (’10)

Samaria, Chief People & Inclusion Officer at Women Who Code, Inc.—the largest and most active community in the world dedicated to inspiring women to excel in technology careers—focuses on community impact through partnerships, volunteer programs, and advocacy. She fosters collaborations, leads employee initiatives, and organizes engagement events. As a Georgia Southern alumna, Samaria maintains her connection by mentoring students via the Eagle Mentoring Program. Her advice to students: diversify your skill set, network extensively, seek real-world experience, stay informed, manage finances wisely, prioritize health, explore passions, set clear goals, seek guidance, and stay flexible to navigate both academic and professional challenges effectively.

Jana Phillips (’12)
