Research Interests
We’re interested in the ecology of freshwater ecosystems. Most of our recent and ongoing work has focused on Coastal Plain rivers and wetlands in the southeastern US. Our lab is also interested in the ecology of tropical rivers and the life history of aquatic invertebrates. Major research themes in our laboratory include the effects aquatic consumers (invertebrates, fish, amphibians) in organic matter processing and energy flow in streams and other freshwater habitats. Our lab is also committed to broadening participation in freshwater science and other STEM disciplines.
