MSG Manuel Borquez
MSG Manuel Borquez, Jr. joined the Eagle Battalion as the Senior Military Science Instructor in August 2024. Originally from Bisbee, Arizona, he joined the Army as a cannon crewmember on June 07, 2007, and conducted Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Ok.
His first assignment was C BTRY, 1 Battalion, 377th Field Artillery Regiment, 17th Fires Brigade. Since then, he has been assigned to B BTRY, 4th Battalion 1st Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, B BTRY, 2nd Battalion, 17 Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, C BTRY, 5th Battalion, 25 Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, HQ Detachment, Fires Center Of Excellence, Fort Sill, and Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, GA. He has held numerous duty positions to include, Howitzer Section Chief, Gunnery Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Master Gunner, First Sergeant, and Senior Military Science Instructor.
MSG Borquez’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (1 Silver Leaf Cluster, 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Unit Citations, Army Good Conduct Medal (4 knots), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Campaign Star), Iraqi Campaign Medal (1 Campaign Star), Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal (1 Campaign Star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 2), and NATO Medal.
MSG Borquez has been awarded the Expert Soldier Badge and the United States Army Master Gunner Identification Badge.
MSG Borquez schools include Basic Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Master Leaders Course, Master Gunner Course, and Air Assault School. Master Resiliency Training, Unit Prevention Leader, Basic Combative Course, and Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (Sharp).
