Statesboro Downtown Live Concert Series featuring Cole Goodwin
Join us early for the final Downtown Live of the season! Admission is free! Food trucks and vendors open at 6 p.m., music begins at 7 p.m. Come early to check out all of our downtown shops.

Silent Auction
Russell Student Union Ballroom
View items in the Silent Auction and place your bid! Viewing will also be available via an electronic app called “Handbid”. Directions on how to download and operate the app are below. Viewing will also be available on Saturday from 9 a.m. – Noon. Winners announced Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the Russell Student Union Ballroom. Money raised from the auction will go towards our Parent and Family Association’s Student Scholarships.

Women’s Volleyball vs. Charleston Southern
Start your weekend off by coming to cheer on our Lady Eagles Volleyball team against Charleston Southern. Guests are encouraged to visit the Block Party before and after the volleyball game outside of Hanner Fieldhouse. Admission is free with your Family Weekend wristband!

All current Parent & Family Association members are invited to join us for coffee and pastries prior to the Bi-Annual Association Meeting. Gold Family Weekend wristband or active PFA membership card is required for entry.

Parents & Family Association Bi-Annual Meeting & Scholarship Award Ceremony
Join us to recognize the 2024-2025 Parent & Family Association scholarship awardees. Also, hear from our Family Council and learn about what is going on in the Association. Gold Family Weekend wristband or active PFA membership card is required for entry.

Women’s Volleyball vs. Furman
Before the big football game, come cheer on our Lady Eagles Volleyball team against Furman. Admissions is free with your Family Weekend wristband.
3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Pre-Game Tailgate
Event has been moved indoors due to impending weather. Food will be served from the Russell Union Ballroom and various rooms will be opened up throughout the Union for guests to sit, eat, and mingle. College Football will be on in each of the rooms for your enjoyment. To-go options will be available if you prefer to pick up your food and take it outside the Union. Free parking is available at the Rusell Union. Gameday shuttle buses will still be running starting at 2:30, and will pick-up right outside the University Store, which is located next to the Student Union. For those that already purchased a parking pass at the RAC or any other location, you are welcome to stop by Russell Union and eat before heading over to your personal tailgating location. In order to allow more time for guests to get to the game, the time of the tailgate has been adjusted, and will now take place from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Georgia Southern Eagles vs. South Carolina State
Parking is only available at Paulson Stadium if you have an already purchased parking pass from the Athletic Foundation/Eagle Fund. Parking passes are also available for purchase at the Recreation Activity Center. Those looking for free parking, will need to park at the Russell Union and ride the Family Weekend Shuttle to Paulson Stadium. Football Ticket Required (Not included in the Family Weekend Package)

Rise & Flow Hatha Yoga
Awaken and align your body with this rejuvenating yoga session. You’ll focus on breath and inner strength, and you’ll leave feeling balanced and energized. All equipment needed will be provided. Gentle and energizing flow to start the day! All level friendly!

Our Garden on-campus features over 11 acres of beautiful scenery- don’t miss out while they are open! Admission to the Garden is $5 per person

Admission to the Museum is $4 per person. Children 3 and under are free.

Georgia Southern Men’s Soccer vs. UAB
Join us as we cheer on our Georgia Southern University Men’s Soccer team in their game against UAB. Entry is free with your Family Weekend wristband!
Campus Attractions Open All Weekend
Campus Dining
If your student has a meal plan, utilize the guest passes included with the plan to dine at the Dining Commons or Lakeside.
Golf Course
The Georgia Southern Golf Course is a full functioning 18-hole course located a few miles from the main campus. Book your tee time online at Georgia Southern’s Golf Course page or call 912-GSU-GOLF for more details.
Recreation Activity Center (RAC)
Fall Family Weekend participants will be allowed free admission to the RAC! This 215,000 square foot facility has a lot to offer! Check it out! Workout, take a tour, or attend a group fitness class with your student.
University Store
The University Store will also be open to allow parents and family members to purchase all the necessary game and spirit gear! If you are part of the Parent & Family Association, don’t forget to bring your membership card for your discount!
Center for Wildlife Education
Family Weekend Hours are Friday Sept. 13th 9:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 14th from 1:00 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. Admission is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children ages 3-11.
Parent & Family Association
Join the Parent & Family Association and become more connected to the University and your student.
Benefits Include:
- Qualification for the Association Scholarship available only to students of current Association members.
- Membership packet including a wall calendar with important Georgia Southern dates.
