Account Expiration/Termination

Faculty/Staff/Retiree

Human Resources provides Accounts Management with a list of employee terminations.  Accounts are disabled upon termination, and deleted at month’s end.  Transfers between departments are sometimes not included in the list from Human Resources.  If your account has been disabled, but you are still employed at Georgia Southern University, please enter a MyTech Help ticket so we can verify your employment status with Human Resources.

Faculty/Faculty Retiree
  • Fill out Separation Checkout form, which can be found by clicking Employee Separation Checklists | Human Resources | Georgia Southern University
  • Account access will be disabled within 5 days after the end of the contract date or resignation date.  You will not be able to send or receive any email once the account is disabled.  The account will be deleted at month’s end.
  • For temporary faculty, we will send an email to the department to see if the faculty member is coming back to work at Georgia Southern.  If yes, we will expire the email account within 5 days after the end of the contract date, but will not delete it.  After verification from Human Resources of the rehire, we will enable the account for you.  If not rehired within the next semester, the account will be deleted at the end of the month.
  • Back up any files needed before your termination date.  We are not responsible for emails or files lost after termination.
