Recycled Percussion to perform Sept. 11

The band that brought the terms ‘power-percussion” and ‘junk rock” into mainstream music will bring its unique sound to Georgia Southern University on Monday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

Recycled Percussion uses just about any recycled product from plastic buckets to jackhammers to create music. They also have a traditional drum kit and a DJ to create a mix of music.

Their Web site states, ‘the combination of power-percussion and hip-hop melodies drives the momentum of what is called the most ballistic live music show of the decade.”

The group has appeared on NBC’s ‘Today Show” and has performed during NBA play-off games. The Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) named Recycled Percussion the Performer of the Year 2006.

Tickets for students are free with a Georgia Southern ID, and are only available beginning one hour prior to the show. Tickets for Georgia Southern faculty and staff members with ID are $5 and tickets are $10 for the general public. These groups may purchase their tickets at the box office beginning Monday, Aug. 28.
