Free seminar for prospective business owners will address minority financing options
Minorities and women who are interested in starting their own businesses are invited to attend a free seminar presented by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Georgia Southern University.
‘Myths and Realities of Minority Financing” will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Statesboro Regional Library.
Scheduled to run from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., the seminar will feature Eric Boneparte, the director of Minority Business Development at the University of Georgia.
The topics of discussion will include common myths about financing a venture; in-depth information about the Small Business Administration; debt and equity financing; non-traditional sources; and preparing a loan or financing proposal.
In addition, options for financing will be reviewed, along with specific recommendations for the next steps in the financing process.
