Former FBI investigator presents in Forensic Accounting Lecture Series Feb. 26

The School of Accountancy at Georgia Southern University presents Charles L. Chuck” Owens of the Investigation and Dispute Services of Ernst & Young, LLP, as its guest speaker for the Fourth Annual Forensic Accounting Lecture Series. His presentation will take place Monday, Feb. 26, at 5:30 p.m. in the Russell Union Building Theater.

Owens joined Ernst & Young in July 2001 following a highly successful 25- year career with the FBI. At Ernst & Young he is a practice leader in managing fraud and forensics investigations for a diversified clientele. He has managed investigations for multi-national companies where substantial portions of the investigations were conducted in the Far East, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Latin America, Europe and India.

In his FBI career, Owens served as the National Manager of the FBI’s White Collar Crime Program, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Atlanta Field Division and, prior to joining Ernst & Young, he was the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Norfolk, Virginia Division. He has been credited with restructuring the FBI’s White Collar Crime Program and establishing national investigative priorities, as well as coordinating development of the first national strategic plan for the White Collar Crime Program.
