Leadership training gives managers practical skills

Georgia Southern University’s non-credit business leadership course ‘Leadership Skills for the Front-Line Manager” will run from Aug. 15 through Oct. 3 at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah.

Class sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for eight Wednesdays.

This 32-hour non-credit course trains managers, supervisors and other administrative personnel with leadership responsibilities.

Each four-hour class focuses on a particular leadership topic, such as communication among employees, legal concerns for supervisors, handling conflict and criticism, or effective methods of coaching employees.

Co-sponsored by the University’s College of Business Administration and Continuing Education Center, the course has trained managers and supervisors from varying fields including manufacturing, distribution, hospitality, transportation, health care and government.
