Canadian-American Connection topic of Nov. 6 presentation

Georgia Southern University will host a visit by Judith M. Costello, Political Advocacy and Academic Relations Officer with the Canadian Consulate General in Atlanta on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Costello’s presentation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the Assembly Hall of the Nessmith-Lane Building is open to all students and faculty. She will speak on ‘Canadian-American Connection: New Horizons, New Opportunities.”

Judith M. Costello is responsible for conveying Canada’s key advocacy messages on a range of topics to elected officials, civic organizations and NGOs, the media, and the academic community throughout the southeastern U.S. She works closely with college and university administrators and faculty members to promote the study of Canada and academic research on Canadian issues or themes.

Following a career in music journalism with NPR, the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra, and the Atlanta Opera, Costello joined the staff of the Canadian Consulate General, Atlanta, in May 1988.� This office, one of 23 Canadian missions in the United States, is responsible for Canadian trade, investment, consular, advocacy and cultural interests in six states: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
