Georgia Southern University honors Stockbridge man

Rod Meadows of Stockbridge has been named Alumnus of the Year in Private Enterprise by Georgia Southern University. Meadows was honored at the University’s annual Alumni Awards Banquet Saturday, April 5, in Statesboro.

Meadows is president of Meadows & Macie, P.C. He has practiced law in Henry County, Ga., since 1976. He has been chosen by his peers on several occasions as one of the Best Lawyers in the Health Care Law field for Atlanta Magazine and is listed in the national publication Best Lawyers in America.

Meadows earned his bachelor’s degree in social science education from Georgia Southern in 1971. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia in 1976.

Among his accomplishments, Meadows is the past chair of the State Bar of Georgia, Health Law Section. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Georgia Bar Association, Flint River Judicial Circuit Bar Association and the Henry County (Georgia) Bar Association. In addition to health care law, Meadows serves as general counsel to corporations in the transportation, grocery, textile, manufacturing and insurance industries.
