Georgia Southern University will provide OSHA training in June

Georgia Southern University is providing industrial managers and safety personnel with an opportunity to learn the pro-active steps necessary to be in compliance with national safety regulations and statutes.

‘OSHA Approved Training” is a 32-hour short course that will be offered at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah from Tuesday, June 3, through Friday, June 6.

The course will provide an in-depth review of General Industry Standard 1910, which covers safety and health regulations for most workplaces and industries.

Led by James Shelburn, an approved Occupational Safety and Health Administration instructor, participants will learn how to use the 1910 standards through a series of practical exercises. Topics will include machine guarding, personal protective equipment, emergency exit routes, hazard identification and abatement, and recordkeeping requirements.

The course materials will include a current copy of the 29 CFR 1910 regulations and a list of changes to OSHA regulations.

Upon completion of the course, each participant will receive a Quality Safety Services Inc. Certificate of Completion and a laminated training certificate from the OSHA Institute, U.S. Department of Labor.

The fee for the course is $995 per person, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch on all four days.
