Georgia Southern University will host Missoula Children’s Theatre in June
Children and teenagers who are interested in developing their acting skills are invited to attend a day camp at Georgia Southern University.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) will conduct its annual summer drama camp from Monday, June 16, through Saturday, June 21, at the University’s Performing Arts Center (PAC).
There are openings for 60 students who will be in grades one through 12 during the 2008-2009 academic year. The students will audition for roles in MCT’s production of ‘Robinson Crusoe.”
The students will rehearse throughout the week and then give two public performances in the PAC on the final day of the camp.
MCT is the largest touring children’s theatre in the country. The company’s mission is the development of life skills in children through participation in the performing arts.
With 32 teams of tour actors and directors, MCT will visit nearly 1,000 communities this year. After arriving in town with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, the company casts the play with local children.
The fee for the camp is $225 per person. For more information, visit http://ceps.georgiasouthern.edu/conted/campdrama.html or call (912) 478-5551.
