Unique Event Invites Savannah Area Business Professionals to Explore an MBA in the City
Interested in earning your MBA? Working full time, managing a family or just cannot travel a long distance to get it? On Thursday, October 2, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. Georgia Southern University will offer interested business professionals in the Savannah area an exclusive look at its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. Professionals can earn a Georgia Southern University MBA without leaving Savannah.
The ‘MBA in the City” event will be held at Blowin’ Smoke off Martin Luther King Blvd. in Savannah and will feature speakers and guests from Georgia Southern University’s College of Business Administration. In this informal setting interested business professionals will provided with an opportunity to network and more. The degree program can be completed in Savannah, online, at its Statesboro campus or through a combination of the three a main selling point to those busy with careers, travel or family commitments.
‘The ability to earn an MBA while working full time, running your own business or managing family commitments is something more professionals are interested in today,” says Ron Shiffler, dean of the College. ‘An MBA is always in demand and professionals with advanced degrees are highly sought after by organizations and valued for their expertise and counsel.”

Georgia Southern University’s general MBA is 30 credit hours which includes two electives. Students who select a concentration are required to successfully complete 36 credit hours which includes 12 hours in their area of interest.

Individuals may also pursue concentrations in health services, information systems and international business. Georgia Southern also offers a Master’s of Accounting and a Master’s of Applied Economics.
