Georgia Southern University Names Jana Briley Director of Audit and Advisory Services
Georgia Southern University has appointed Jana Briley director of audit and advisory services, effective Nov. 1, 2009.
Briley, a 20-year employee of Georgia Southern University, most recently served as an auditor in Georgia Southern’s office of Audit and Advisory Services. Prior to that, she served as an accountant and coordinator of Annual Fund accounts with the Georgia Southern University Foundation. She began her career as an accounting assistant.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Jana Briley as Georgia Southern’s director of audit and advisory services,” said Bruce Grube, president of Georgia Southern University.”Jana is in her 20th year of service to Georgia Southern University. Her familiarity with the campus and her knowledge of accounting principles will continue to ensure Georgia Southern’s compliance with policies and procedures mandated by the Board of Regents and the State of Georgia. I am confident she will continue the good oversight that has been provided by current Auditor Scott Pierce.”

Briley earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and Master of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Georgia Southern University. She completed the College Business Management Institute, a three-year program at the University of Kentucky.
She was certified as a Certified Internal Auditor by The Institute of Internal Auditors and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Association of College and University Auditors and of the Gamma Beta Phi Society, a national honor society promoting academic excellence.
