Georgia Southern University to Host Open House Nov. 13
High school students preparing for college and their families will have a unique opportunity to spend a day on a university campus when Georgia Southern University hosts its Open House Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
The Open House is geared towards high school students who are currently in the process of selecting a college. The event allows students to tour the campus, meet members of the University’s administration, and learn about the academic and student-life opportunities at Georgia Southern.
Students and parents can explore the campus together and or they can choose to attend separate sessions. Tours include a look inside residence halls and academic buildings. Information sessions touch on everything from admissions requirements and financial aid to student life activities at Georgia Southern.
Visitors to campus will see for themselves why record numbers of students continue to select Georgia Southern as their first-choice University. Georgia Southern has the only College of Information Technology in the state and is home to premier education and nursing programs. The University’s Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health is a leader in preparing professionals for healthcare careers and undergraduate students in the Allen E. Paulson College of Science and Technology are conducting cutting-edge research in the science of biofuel development.
