Georgia Southern University Business and Nursing Graduate Programs Among Best in Nation
Georgia Southern University’s graduate programs in business and nursing have been recognized among the nation’s best in U.S. News & World Report’s 2012 Best Graduate Schoolsrankings that were released today. The 2012 Best Graduate Schools includes essential, detailed statistical information on more than 1,200 programs nationwide.
Georgia Southern’s School of Nursing’s graduate degree program has once again been ranked among the nation’s best. The Family Nurse Practitioner program has been ranked 19th in the country ahead of programs including Emory University, Ohio State University and the University of Virginia. The Master of Science graduate nursing program has been named one of the top 80 programs in the country (tied for 79th) under the Health Disciplines category, besting programs including the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, the University of South Carolina and the University of Central Florida to name a few.
Georgia Southern’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is recognized as one of the Top Part-Time MBA Schools by the publication. Tied for 121 out of 295, Georgia Southern has once again been recognized by its peers as offering one of the best programs in the country. According to the magazine, “Part-time MBA programs play a vital role in business education, especially for working people who can’t go full time because of family or financial reasons.” The 2012 ranking is based on a fall 2010 survey of business school deans and MBA program directors throughout the country. Georgia Southern’s MBA program includes classes taught on its main campus, in Savannah, Ga., or online providing numerous options for working students.

The publication’s ranking of Georgia Southern’s graduate programs is the second major recognition already this year. Georgia Southern was recently named the fourth most popular university in the country by U.S. News & World Report based on yield, besting the likes of Harvard and Stanford.
