Ticket Information for Soledad O’Brien’s Appearance at Georgia Southern

1-16 Ticket information for Soledad O'BrienSTATESBORO, Ga. – Jan 16, 2013 – Georgia Southern University’s annual MLK Celebration will feature CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien on Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at Hanner Fieldhouse. The veteran, Emmy award-winning journalist will focus on social justice, public service and continuing the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event is sponsored by Georgia Southern’s Multicultural Student Center and the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

“There has been a tremendous response from people who want to hear the inspiring message of Soledad O’Brien and hear how she has covered stories around the world focusing on social justice issues, minorities and their  struggles,” said Dorsey Baldwin, the director of Georgia Southern’s Multicultural Student Center. “We decided to move the MLK Celebration from the Performing Arts Center to Hanner Fieldhouse in order to accommodate a much larger crowd.”

Tickets for the free event are required. Students can get tickets from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Jan. 22 through Jan. 25 at the Multicultural Student Center office in the Russell Union, Room 2070. Tickets for the public will be available on Jan. 24 and 25 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Hanner Fieldhouse ticket office, the Georgia Southern City Campus, 58 E. Main St., Statesboro and the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm Street in Savannah.
