Georgia Southern to host Eagle Techxpo
Experience the latest in computers and meet one-on-one with technology industry leaders during Georgia Southern University’s 6th Annual Eagle Techxpo on Friday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) Building. The event is free and open to students, faculty and staff and the community.
This year’s Techxpo features two competitions. The Computer Shootout is for students, faculty and staff who build custom computers. Prizes will be awarded in four categories including CPU Faceoff, GPU Showdown, best overall performance and best in show as voted on by the crowd. There is also a Techxpo Video Challenge with the theme of what makes Georgia Southern great. Awards will be presented for videos on academics, athletics and student life. The winners will be recognized at 3 p.m. in the CEIT Building, Room 1005.
Vendor exhibits and breakout sessions from Desire2Learn and other industry leaders will be held throughout the day. Curt Carver, Ph.D., vice chancellor for IT and CIO for the University System of Georgia, will be the keynote speaker at the event.
