Lt. Gen. Robert B. Neller to Share Leadership Skills With Students
Lt. Gen. Robert B. Neller will share leadership skills with students at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 10, during the Student Organization and Leadership Development (SOLD) Workshop Series in the Russell Union Theater.
Neller, a native of East Lansing, Mich., will speak to workshop attendees about “Excellence in Leadership,” and share his experiences as a commanding officer in the United States Marine Corps. He assumed his duties as Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Central Command, in September 2012.
Neller is a graduate of the Basic School, Advanced Armor Officer Course, Marine Command and Staff College, NATO Defense College and the Armed Forces Staff College. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in history and speech communication. He also holds a Master of Arts in human resource management from Pepperdine University.
“We are excited about this opportunity for our student leaders to have such a distinguished member of our U.S. Armed Forces coming to campus to share his experience and insights into the practice of leadership,” said John Banter, leadership coordinator with the Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement (OSLCE).
The SOLD Workshop Series is coordinated by the OSLCE and the Office of Student Activities. The SOLD Workshop Series is designed for any student seeking to develop their individual leadership capabilities and for those who currently aspire to hold a leadership position within student organizations. The Series is also an excellent way for student organizations to train their next leaders.
