Symphony Orchestra & String Camerata to Perform Free Concert
The Georgia Southern Symphony and String Camerata will present a free concert on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.
Maestro Adrian Gnam, director of the Symphony Orchestra and Steven Elisha, Ph.D., director of the String Camerata will lead the performers in an evening of classic talent. The Symphony and String Camerata, all students, will perform a variety of music from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. The String Camerata will also perform William Boyce’s “Symphone in B-flat” and Enrique Granados’s “Intermedio” from the opera Goyescas.
In addition to the Symphony and Camerata, audience members will be treated with performances from other prominent Statesboro musicians. Brian Luckett, Ph.D., classical guitar instructor at Georgia Southern, will perform Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s “Guitar Concerto,” and the Statesboro Youth Chorale Show Choir, led by Tamara Watson Harper, Ph.D., will sing the choral part to Gabriel Faure’s Pavane with the Symphony.
