Georgia Southern University Department of Public Safety Update
Georgia Southern University has been informed by the City of Statesboro Police Department that a woman was found dead at an off-campus apartment complex in Statesboro Tuesday afternoon.? The City of Statesboro Police and the University have confirmed that the person was not a student at Georgia Southern and that the incident took place off campus.?
The City of Statesboro Police Department has been investigating and has released the below statement. To assist, Georgia Southern is asking anyone with information related to the case to please contact the Statesboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division at (912) 764-1542. While this occurred off campus and is believed to be an isolated incident, Georgia Southern has increased patrols by its University Police Department on campus as a precaution.?

The Statesboro Police Department is currently investigating a homicide which occurred at 508 Campus Crossing apartment community in Statesboro, Ga.? Preliminary autopsy reports conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Savannah Crime Lab revealed the victim Brandie Danielle Davis’ death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner.? Detectives from the Statesboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division are actively conducting a thorough investigation regarding the case.? Based on the information available at this time this appears to be an isolated incident.?
