Georgia Southern University honors local Albany woman
Albany accountant Olivia Suggs Flanagan has been named Alumna of the Year by Georgia Southern University’s College of Business Administration.
Flanagan is the retired vice president of Flanagan and Waycaster Construction Company from which she stepped down in 2000. Prior to then, she served as vice president of Bristol Development Corporation, tax manager for Cousins Properties, and was a CPA with Arthur Andersen.
She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in accounting from Georgia Southern in 1969. Flanagan was honored at the University’s annual Alumni Awards Banquet Saturday, April 5, in Statesboro.
Flanagan serves as a member of the Georgia Southern University College of Business Administration’s Advisory Board; is a past president of the Georgia Women’s Golf Association and serves on the organization’s board of directors; and serves on the Georgia State Golf Association’s Women’s Tournament Committee, Finance and Handicap Committee, and is a rules official volunteer.
Flanagan is an ex-officio member of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame Board of Directors.
She is a member of Doublegate Country Club and Stonebridge Country Club.
