Georgia Southern University honors Lawrenceville man

Matthew Janofsky of Lawrenceville has been named Alumnus of the Year for Georgia Southern University’s College of Information Technology.

Janofsky is Gladiator Technology Services’ vice president for application development. He is a 1984 graduate of Georgia Southern who earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Information Systems.

Janofsky was honored at the University’s annual Alumni Awards Banquet Saturday, April 5, in Statesboro.

He serves as a steering committee member for Georgia Southern’s Information Systems Program, founded the Matthew Janofsky Scholarship in Information Systems, is a youth baseball coach, and is the Duluth, Ga., Men’s Ice Hockey Team captain. He is a member of Johns Creek Baptist Church in Alpharettta.

Prior to his current position, he served as project lead and developer for Alltel, customer support manger and systems analyst for OIN Banking Systems Inc., and a software developer for Unisys Corporation.

He was also a contract software developer with a variety of companies including TG Marketing Systems, The Coca-Cola Company, Safe Systems Inc., Delta Airlines, Innotrac Corporation, Residential Inspectors of America, IT Age Corporation, and UPS Supply Chain Solutions.
