Leadership class to be offered

Students interested in gaining a foundation in leadership studies will now have the opportunity to take a 3 credit-hour course this spring. Principles of Leadership – IDS 3090 will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

In the course students will gain theoretical and practical skills necessary for success in both their professional and personal life. ‘Examples of topics will include history of leadership, social change model of leadership development, leadership styles and communication,” said Kellie Pickett, assistant director of student leadership. ‘Students will create a leadership portfolio as well as create a personal vision statement and philosophy of leadership.”
