Georgia Southern Eagles to Receive Diplomas in Special Graduation Ceremony

eagleheadGeorgia Southern University will hold a special graduation ceremony Thursday, Dec. 13, at 8:45 p.m. ET for nine Eagle football players and a manager who will be in Fargo, N.D., to take on the North Dakota State University Bison in the NCAA Football Championship Series semifinals.

Georgia Southern President Brooks Keel, Ph.D., will present diplomas to the 10 Eagles during a video conference to be shown live on www.georgiasouthern.tv.

Due to the NCAA semifinal playoff game scheduled for Friday evening, the student athletes will be unable to attend the University’s formal graduation ceremonies at Hanner Fieldhouse in Statesboro. The Eagles who will receive their diplomas during the special commencement ceremony are Blake DeBartola, Russell DeMasi, Markus Farmer, Brandon Lane, Zach Reckers, Brent Russell, John Stevenson, Tyler Sumner, Zach York and manager Nate Baker.

The football game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 Friday at 8 p.m.
