Georgia Southern Football Program Featured in New “We Are the Champions” Exhibit at Georgia Sports Hall of Fame

The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in Macon, Georgia recently unveiled its newest exhibit, We Are the Champions: Georgia’s College Football National Championship Teams. The exhibit highlights a handful of Georgia college football teams declared the best in the country.
Georgia Southern University, with its six national titles, has made the list.
The display features six Georgia colleges that have won National Championships in their respective divisions. In addition to Georgia Southern, visitors will see Georgia Military College, Georgia Tech University, the University of Georgia, University of West Georgia and Valdosta State University.
The display items include a 1985 National Championship ring from Georgia Southern, National Championship Trophy from Georgia Tech and a 1943 Rose Bowl program from the University of Georgia.
The exhibit also highlights Georgia Sports Hall of Fame inductees John Heisman, William Alexander, Wally Butts and Vince Dooley who coached their respective teams to championship wins.
The exhibit will remain on display until December.
