The Garden of the Coastal Plain at Georgia Southern University to Host Rhythm and Brews Craft Beer Tasting Event on Sept. 28

The Garden of the Coastal Plain at Georgia Southern University, formerly Georgia Southern Botanical Garden, will host its annual Rhythm and Brews beer tasting event on  Sept., 28 2012, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Proceeds from the event will support the Garden.

Atlanta’s popular Mosier Brothers Band will heat up the fall heritage garden with bluegrass-laced rock and alternative music while guests enjoy unlimited tastings of craft beers and food from Big Bad Wolf barbeque of Statesboro.

The event will be held at the Garden in Statesboro, a quick ride from Savannah.  Tickets are available through Sept.  22 for $40 per person. After Sept. 22, tickets are $50 per person.  Guests must be 21 or older to attend, and proper ID is required.  Tickets are available by calling the Garden with a major credit card at 912-871-1149.

The Atlanta-based The Mosier Brothers Band are 30-year veterans of bluegrass-infused rock ‘n’ roll. Jeff Mosier, founder of the band, plays the electric banjo while his brother Johnny plays the electric and acoustic guitar.  Big Bad Wolf will park their smoker on wheels behind the Garden’s restored Weathervane Barn, and the mouthwatering smells of barbeque smoke will greet Rhythm and Brews guests.  Follow the music through the fall gardens to the large field between the Barn and the historic Oak Grove One Room Schoolhouse to the beer tasting tent, where each guest will receive a commemorative beer glass.  Guests will have the opportunity to visit numerous vendors each offering unlimited samples of a varieties of beer.

Centered on an early 20th century farmstead, the Garden at Georgia Southern University offers visitors a unique view of the cultural and natural heritage of the Southeastern Coastal Plain, an area rich in unique and endangered plants.
