Concerts have historically been open to the students of Georgia Southern University, as well as Statesboro residents and folks from surrounding communities. In some cases, the musicians and musical acts showcased were still “up and coming,” including the likes of Otis Redding. Statesboro even saw some “firsts” and “lasts” over the decades, with the Rolling Stones first collegiate appearance in the United States, and the original Lynyrd Skynryd band’s final collegiate performance.
