Only for Southern: 24 Hours of Eagle Giving

Eagle Nation proved, once again, that there’s No Place Else like Georgia Southern during the University’s third annual Only for Southern giving day held on March 5, 2026.
Donors set a single-day giving record, with 2,171 generous Eagles contributing more than $764,000 to areas across the University. Gifts came in from 49 states — only Delaware was not represented — and 13 countries, including Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. But, significant support came from the heart of campus as well — 440 students made gifts, an Only for Southern record.
“Whether a newly enrolled freshman, a parent to a graduate, or an alum on the other side of the planet, Eagles feel a powerful and singular connection to Georgia Southern, and Only for Southern made that clear,” said Clarke Schwabe, director of annual giving.
“Our students, faculty and communities will feel the effects of this wave of generosity for a long time to come. We couldn’t be more grateful to Eagle Nation.”
