Georgia Southern launches the Sustainable Fuels Research Network<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Scientists and engineers at Georgia Southern University are dedicated to addressing the challenging issues related to transitioning to sustainable fuel sources. To support this mission, the University has established the Sustainable Fuels Research Network (SFRN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SFRN brings together the intellectual and technical expertise of faculty researchers and University resources, aiming to collaborate with corporate partners focused on developing practical solutions in sustainable fuel technology. Through these innovative partnerships, experts from the Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing (AEPCEC) and the College of Science and Mathematics (COSM) strive to create more efficient and sustainable fuel alternatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt Georgia Southern, we don\u2019t see challenges. We see opportunities,\u201d said Georgia Southern Vice President of Research and Economic Development David Weindorf, Ph.D. \u201cOur research is dedicated to making a meaningful difference, and the Sustainable Fuels Research Network exemplifies our commitment to creating a cleaner, more sustainable world for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SFRN is committed to progressing sustainable fuel technology, aiming to move beyond theoretical research to large-scale practical applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGeorgia\u2019s economy is powered by energy, fueling everything from vehicles and aircraft to manufacturing plants,\u201d said Dean of AEPCEC Craig Harvey, Ph.D., PE. \u201cWe are dedicated to providing the engineering talent essential for developing and implementing sustainable fuel sources that drive Georgia’s economy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Georgia Southern supports this mission with a network of advanced laboratories strategically located throughout the region. These state-of-the-art facilities act as central hubs for SFRN’s research initiatives, promoting collaboration among researchers, industry partners and other key stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe development of new, sustainable fuels is a challenging and critical goal for the scientific community as well as the Georgia economy,\u201d said Dean of COSM Michael Huggins, Ph.D. \u201cFaculty and student researchers at Georgia Southern are playing an important role in solving these economic and scientific issues.  The new research network will serve to strengthen our efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
