Georgia Southern University President Kyle Marrero has been named one of Georgia\u2019s 100 Most Influential Leaders in 2025 by Georgia Trend, marking the eighth time he has been included on the list since 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am humbled to be included on a list of impactful educational and thought leaders from around the state,\u201d stated Marrero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under Marrero\u2019s direction, Georgia Southern has established a culture of high performance and evidence-based leadership focused on making data-informed decisions and communication transparency. The University has broken records in private fundraising, faculty research expenditures and awards, post-consolidation enrollment and graduation rates, and contributed an economic impact of more than $1.1 billion to the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marrero is also directing transformational initiatives for the University, including \u201cSoaring to R1,\u201d which maps the organizational alignment and institutional progress to gain Carnegie R1 status by 2028. He leads the charge for the University\u2019s first-ever comprehensive capital campaign, \u201cTogether We Soar,\u201d which is ahead of schedule to raise $300 million by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
