Every year, the Georgia Southern University Foundation welcomes alumni and friends to its annual 1906 Society Event to recognize the men and women who help make the University a success. In addition to honoring annual supporters, this year\u2019s gathering on Sept. 26, at the Eugene M. Bishop Alumni Center, recognized the honorees in the 40 Under 40 Class of 2014. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed tasty hors d\u2019oeuvres and a rousing night of dueling pianos, which provided opportunities to sing and dance along to favorite songs. Membership in the 1906 Society is extended to contributors who make annual gifts of $1,200 or more to support the University. The donations may be designated to specific funds or used for scholarships or initiatives that enhance teaching, research, cultural activities and economic development.<\/p>\n
