Lee, a managing partner, said the locally-owned independent agency is committed \u201cto help protect farmers in our area with the highest levels of professionalism and service.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>1980s<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Mark L. Burns<\/strong> (\u201883) has been appointed the next president of Gulfstream Aerospace. The 32-year Gulfstream veteran will assume his new role on July 1, 2015. Burns has been president of product support for the corporation since June 2008. He earned a bachelor\u2019s in industrial engineering from Georgia Southern University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phil Moore<\/strong> (\u201882) has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Accountants in Georgia by the National Academy of Public Accounting Professionals. He is a managing partner of the Atlanta-based firm Porter Keadle Moore.<\/p>\n<h2>1990s<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Kelly Tankersley<\/strong> (\u201897, \u201899) was named Special Education Teacher of the Year for Effingham County, Georgia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bruce Rogers<\/strong>, Ed.D., (\u201896, \u201897, \u201910) was presented with the 2014 School Psychologist of the Year award by the Georgia Association of School Psychologists. He is a school psychologist for public schools in Bulloch County, Georgia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Russell McMurry<\/strong> (\u201891) has been named the new commissioner of the Georgia Department of Transportation. He joined the department in 1990 as a civil engineering trainee, and his experience in the department has ranged from serving as a project manager to a district engineer.<\/p>\n<p>Finance graduate <strong>Gary Spinks<\/strong> (\u201896) recently co-founded and launched the new marketing analytics\/market research company Bug Insights with headquarters in Atlanta and Houston.<\/p>\n<h2>2000s<\/h2>\n<p>Business Management graduate <strong>Wayne Murphy<\/strong> (\u201804) was selected to serve on the Young Alumni Advisory Board for Georgia Southern\u2019s College of Business Administration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nathan Corbitt<\/strong>, CPA, (\u201805) has been promoted to wealth advisor at the Brightworth financial planning and wealth management firm.
