Given the injuries being nursed by the 20 projected starters from last year\u2019s Georgia Southern FCS playoff squad, the annual Blue-White Spring Game, could have been called the Black and Blue Game. That didn\u2019t stop a record 4,233 enthusiastic fans from coming out to see the White team hold on for a 21-20 victory over the Blue. The starters who did take the field were joined by a healthy mix of reserves who got plenty of repetitions in preparation for the 2011 campaign.<\/p>\n

“They were running into each other pretty well,” said head coach Jeff Monken. “There were some good hits, good blocks and hard tackles. I think the guys really enjoyed the chance to get out there and play in front of a crowd.” Former Eagles Jayson Foster and Mark Williams served as the honorary captains for the White Team while Steve Bussoletti was the honorary captain for the Blue team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
