{"id":4662,"date":"2013-12-12T08:00:15","date_gmt":"2013-12-12T13:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ww2.georgiasouthern.edu\/news\/dev-mag\/?p=1281"},"modified":"2014-06-06T14:32:31","modified_gmt":"2014-06-06T18:32:31","slug":"true-blue-spotlight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ww2.georgiasouthern.edu\/news\/magazine\/2013\/12\/12\/true-blue-spotlight\/","title":{"rendered":"True Blue Spotlight"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Alumnus Takes Georgia Southern to New Heights<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1448\" alt=\"Kilimanjaro\" src=\"http:\/\/ww2.georgiasouthern.edu\/news\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Kilimanjaro.jpg\" width=\"650\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When alumnus Chris Bostain (\u201902) set a goal of climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, he wanted to bring along a special token to ensure his climb to the top was unique.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why he decided to embark on his six day, 37 mile climb at 19,039 feet above sea level with a Georgia Southern flag in tow.<\/p>\n<p>Bostain traveled to Africa with fellow Georgia Southern alumnus Trey Yearwood (\u201901), who also wanted to take an adventure trip that was on a \u201cbucket list level and very challenging,\u201d Bostain added. And although difficult, the climb was rewarding and humbling, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter completing the climb, I felt very humbled, lucky and drained. I felt lucky I was not as affected as others with illness so that I could make this journey and reach the summit,\u201d he said. Bostain braved freezing temperatures, nausea, 25-mph winds and other adversities to make it to the top.\u00a0&#8211; <em>Crissie Elrick<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Chris Bostain Trip to Mt.
