Gov. Brian Kemp appointed him the new\ndirector of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) where he leads&nbsp;&nbsp; a staff of more than 800 people. Reynolds, a\nformer police officer, chief magistrate judge and criminal defense attorney,\nleft his job as Cobb County\u2019s district attorney for his new position at the\nGBI. The former prosecutor earned his Bachelor of Science in criminal justice\nat Georgia Southern.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Harry\nHunter <\/strong>(\u201974,\u201975) was recently appointed clinical assistant professor at\nthe University of Southern California\u2019s Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work in the Department of Social Change and Innovation in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paul\nForbes <\/strong>(\u201977) has been appointed the\nprogram coordinator with the College of Science and Technology at Southeastern\nLouisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bob\nSomers <\/strong>(\u201983), the senior vice president of global sales for Delta Air\nLines, has begun a three-year term as chairman of Peach Bowl, Inc. As\nchairman, his primary responsibility is to oversee Peach Bowl, Inc.\u2019s Board\nof Trustees, which governs Peach Bowl, Inc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nincludes management of the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, the Chick-fil-A Kickoff\nGame, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge charity golf event and The Dodd\nTrophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>J. Snypp III <\/strong>(\u201984) was named to the Georgia Association of Business Brokers 2018 Million Dollar Club for helping broker the sale of small, medium and large businesses. He is vice president of Preferred Business Brokers, Inc., in Atlanta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thomas Crumbley <\/strong>(\u201989) is\na new plant manager for MPW industrial services in Yuma, Arizona.Karen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rachel\nR. Krause <\/strong>(\u201996) was sworn in as a Fulton\nCounty Superior Court judge in Atlanta. She most recently was a partner at the\nnational litigation firm of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard &amp; Smith. She\nspecialized in health disability and Employment Retirement Income Security Act\n(ERISA) defense law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zeb\nBaker <\/strong>(\u201901) has been named the director\nof the University Honors Program at Miami University of Ohio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mary\nThornton <\/strong>(\u201902) is the new technical\nsupport manager at Sebia in Atlanta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thomas\nClapper <\/strong>(\u201907) is the new information\nsystems security manager for SpaceX in Hawthorne, California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert \u201cBob\u201d Mikell <\/strong>((\u201907) was among the honorees at the 20th annual Justice Robert Benham Awards for Community Service ceremony in Atlanta in March. The awards, named for a former Supreme Court of Georgia justice, are presented to lawyers and judges who have made significant contributions to their communities and demonstrate the positive contributions of members of the State Bar of Georgia beyond their legal or official work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Georj Lewis <\/strong>(\u201907), Georgia Southern Vice President for Student Affairs, has been named the interim president of Atlanta Metropolitan State College, effective July 1. He replaces Gary McGaha, who is retiring from the position he\u2019s held since 2007. Lewis has more than 25 years of experience in higher education including 16 years experience with the University System of Georgia. Starting in 2002, he led student diversity programming efforts at Georgia Southern and went on to serve as the institution\u2019s dean of students. He later served as vice chancellor for student affairs at Indiana University Northwest before relocating back to Georgia to serve as vice president for Student Affairs at Armstrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brian\nPrevatt <\/strong>(\u201909) is the new chief financial officer at Parker\u2019s, headquartered in Savannah. In his\nnew position, Prevatt is responsible\nfor managing financial and tax strategy, asset\nutilization, value creation and\nreturn on capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brittany\nDenney <\/strong>(\u201910) is the new public\ninformation officer for the Chatham County Sheriff\u2019s Office in Savannah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mary\nKate Schleider <\/strong>(\u201912) has been promoted\nto director of strategic accounts at Edgenet, a Nashville-based software\ncompany.
