The Twelfth Annual National French Week
On November 4-11 Georgia Southern will host The Twelfth National French Week. The week of activities will include the “Provence” exhibit in the library running from November 4th- Decemeber15th, French cuisines being offered in Landrum, presentations from esteemed professors and “La Table francaise,” which is a chance to practice French over a meal at Lakeside Café.
Thursday, November 4th:
- Lunchtime Buffet with a French Menu- Landrum Cafeteria 11am- 1pm
- “Venez danser avec nous!” French Folk Music Revival: An Introductory Workshop- located in Nessmith-Lane Building 7:30 pm-Free
Friday, November 5th:
- French Luncheon- located in The Hotel and Restaurant Management Dining Room- Reservations are required call (912) 478-5975 and the cost is $8
Saturday, November 6th:
- A French Brunch- The Sugar Magnolia Bakery and Market in Statesboro 9am- 11am.
Monday, November 8th:
- “Haiti: Reflecting Back, Looking Forward”: a presentation by Dr. Helen Graf. Located in the Nessmith-Lane building at 4 pm and is free admission.
- “L’Enfant” Movie presented in the Russell Union Theatre at 7:15 pm. Admission is $3.
Tuesday, November 9th:
- French Menu: Landrum Cafeteria from 11am- 1pm
- “The Dot and the Grande Jatte: Seurat’s Scientific Impressionism”: a presentation by Dr. Julie McGuire. Presented in the Arts Building 2016 at 4pm and is free admission.
Wednesday, November 10th:
- A French Menu at Christopher’s Restaurant. Prices vary.
- “Satre, Is Hell Really Other People?”: a presentation by Dr. Beth Butterfield. Located in the Nessmith-Lane building at 4pm and is free admission.
Thursday, November 11th:
- “La Table francaise”: Located at Lakeside Café on the second floor from 4:30 pm- 6:30 pm. This is an opportunity to speak French with your peers.
