Georgia Southern University Urges Fans to Attend Football Team Send-Off Celebrations
Eagles Play Saturday for a Spot in the National Championship Game
STATESBORO, Ga., -- Dec. 16, 2010 – Georgia Southern University is urging fans to show their support for the Eagles football team and its quest to reach the national championship game.
“Fan support means everything to the Georgia Southern University Eagles,” said University President Brooks Keel. “We hope our fans will gather Friday morning to send our team off to Delaware and remind these young men, once again, of how proud the Eagle Nation is of their achievement.”
The Georgia Southern Eagles will face off against the University of Delaware Blue Hens at noon on Saturday. The winner will play for the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision title January 7.
The Eagle football team will leave from the Parrish Football Center off of Fair Road/Hwy. 67 at 9:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17. Fans are encouraged to wear blue and white as they gather prior to the team’s departure to cheer the Eagles on as they prepare to depart.
