Funding Available for Cultural Events, Apply Today
If you’d like to bring a speaker, exhibition or performance to the campus of Georgia Southern University but aren’t able to fund the event, the Campus Life Enrichment Committee (CLEC) may be able to help.
CLEC supports campus programs of a cultural nature as well
as lectures, both general and academic, on a campus-wide basis and for
individual departments, schools and colleges, consistent with the budget
allocated for these activities. The committee has $20,000 to allocate for Spring 2012.
Please be aware that up to $5000 may be requested per event and that the
committee reserves the right to grant partial funding for any proposal.
Below are a few of the criteria the committee will be considering when reviewing proposals:
1. Demonstration of the active pursuit of further funding
2. Clear support for the amounts being requested
3. Presentation of the proposal in clarity of goals and argumentation, as well as in the professionalism of the submitted materials.
Complete the application by Thursday, March 1, 2012.
Recipients of CLEC funds are required to submit receipts and a follow up report to the committee within two weeks after the event takes place. Failure to do so will result in the proposer being unable to apply for further CLEC funds.
For more information, contact Andi Wilson, graduate assistant for the Campus Life Enrichment Committee, at 912-478-5258. Learn more about the CLEC.
