Strawberry Days at Statesboro Mainstreet Farmers Market
Georgia Southern University’s Botanical Garden and the University Wellness Program have teamed up with the Statesboro Mainstreet Farmers Market to bring the best locally grown and produced food to downtown Statesboro.
Every Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon in the Sea Island Bank parking lot at 2 East Main St., the market features fresh vegetables, baked goods and even meats. This Saturday, April 28, fresh strawberries will be available including recipes and samples. In addition, new crops of fingerling and red potatoes, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, salad greens, peas, broccoli, eggs, honey, dairy and plants may be purchased.
Cash, Credit and Debit cards, as well as EBT are acceptable forms of payment.
Other Statesboro Mainstreet Farmers Market activities will include:
- Chef demonstrations by Laura Wheaton and the Georgia Southern University Nutrition Department
- The Body Factory at the Wellness Tent
- Performances on the main stage include Statesboro High School’s production of Willie Wonka and Pladd Dot's School of Rock Bands
- Local crafts
- Education exhibits for garden preparation by Lowes of Statesboro
Can’t make it Saturday? The market visits Georgia Southern’s campus behind the Williams Center on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
