Farm to Table Workshop Registration Deadline TODAY
The Center for Sustainability has teamed with the Georgia Campus Sustainability Network and Green Ambassadors for an educational workshop on sustainable food from the farm to the campus dining hall, and today is the final registration date to participate.Urban farmer, Rashid Nuri will speak on community gardens in urban settings; a farm to table panel including a sustainable produce grower, grass fed beef producer, miller, farmer’s market representative, and university dining hall liaison will provide information on how universities can tap into the local and sustainable food system.
Afternoon workshops will include the Real Food Challenge and a step-by-step guide from campuses that have already implemented sustainable food choices on their menus. The day will end face-to-face with grass fed cattle and free-range chickens, at Hunter Cattle, 10 miles from Georgia Southern University.
